Service Description: This service depicts Daily Risk Assessment/Fuel Potential and Thunderstorm/Lighting likelihood for: Forecast Day 0 = Yesterday; Forecast Day 1 = Today; Forecast Day 2 = Tomorrow; Forecast Day 3 = Day After Tomorrow. Daily Risk Assessments/Fuel Potential are generated by combining Grass Adjective values and Spruce Adjective values with AK Volatile Fuel Prevalence-Long Range Spotting values. This is intended to show areas where current environmental conditions and landcover could result in elevated fire activity. It is NOT intended to replace models that simulate fire movement and behavior. AK Volatile Fuel Prevalence-Long Range Spotting from Alaska Fire Service. Fire Danger Ratings produced by AKFF MesoWest. Thunderstorm and Lightning provided by NOAA National Weather Service.
