Service Description: These features represent the locations and perimeters of wildfires that occur naturally (e.g., lightning) or by humans accidentally (e.g., escaped campfire) or maliciously across Alaska. The dataset includes some, but not all, historic fire points. Although this is a comprehensive dataset, it is not complete. Users should note these data are subject to revision. Wildland fire perimeters are presented in two ways. Fire History Perimeters (Polygons) displays on the FINAL fire perimeter. Fire History (Progression) will display ALL perimeters for an individual fire.
